Heuer
Autavia Orange Boy
11630 – Vintage Automatic
The Autavia is one of watchmaking's steadfast references; first made 90 years ago as a timer for aircraft cockpits and car instrument panels, the style as seen here was re-crafted in 1972 to accommodate the innovative new Calibre 11/12. This movement is the first commercial self-winding chronograph.
Nicknamed "Orange Boy" this Heuer Autavia is in phenomenal (never polished) condition. On close examination, the steel case, bezel and insert have some minute signs of age, although to the eye they appear nearly new. Correct tritium luminous on the dial, hands and bezel index, which also have vivid "day-glo" detailing. Solid 42mm stainless steel case in exceptional condition, with sharp lines & perfectly crisp chamfered edges.
These icons of watch collecting can still sometimes be found for sensible prices, but in sharp and fresh condition like this, they are rapidly becoming impossible to replace. 2-year Watch Club warranty.
