Omega
Military Mark X
Dirty Dozen
"Mark X" British Army watches were officially used from 1945 all the way to the Falklands in 1982, making them among the most venerable of all vintage wristwatches.
Supplied only for a few months between May and December 1945, this model was originally designated "Watch, Wristlet, Waterproof" or simply WWW.
Omega was among a group of 12 makers that supplied similar watches to the British Army, giving them the nickname "Dirty Dozen".
This military edition of the manual-wind calibre 30T2 was adjusted by Omega at the time of supply to chronometer standard, designated reglage speciale. The movement is correctly numbered, as are both the inside and outside of the case-back, also bearing the British military Broad Arrow.
Here's a secret not many people know: if you subtract the two numbers engraved on the case-back, the difference will always be 10,664,199. This code applies to every correctly-numbered Omega Mark X.
The screw-down case is in excellent condition, as are the hands and dial with original luminous markings and Broad Arrow. NATO-style fabric strap. There are few other watches still available now that are at once good looking whilst carrying the cachet of 20th century history. Two-year Watch Club warranty.
