A truly beautiful vintage gentleman's Calatrava "King size" with central seconds, made in 1951.

At 37mm in diameter, this large 18ct yellow gold ref. 2481 was ahead of its time, and you can see its lineage in today's modern Calatrava. Its impressive dimensions, concave case edge and stepped lugs, are characteristics that influenced Patek to use this very reference for its extremely rare cloisonné dial models in the 1950's. Serviced at Patek Philippe in the 90's, where it received an upgraded opaline Sigma dial, and solid gold Calatrava folding clasp.

The manual-wind central seconds movement is powered by the trusted Patek calibre 27SC, and the watch is accompanied by its previous sales receipt, Patek travel sleeve, and the Patek Philippe Extract from The Archives confirming its production date (1951), and sale one year later on the 24th June 1952.
