Manufactured in 1969, this 36mm 18ct yellow gold Day-Date is in exceptional condition with its unblemished champagne 'stepped' dial with elegant thin batons, original tritium hands & lume plots, surrounded by its beautiful bark finish bezel. An upgrade to the sturdier yellow gold 8723/8 concealed President bracelet (supplied by Rolex Service Centre in 2004), cost the previous owner £5,954; confirmed by the Rolex paperwork. 

When first released in the late 1960s, the Day-Date ref. 1803/8 with Bark finish typified the design of that era. With Rolex producing far fewer than the regular Day-Date, outstanding examples like this have become extremely sought after.
