Made in 1964, this Rolex Explorer ref. 5500 is one of the nicest examples we've had, with what's known in the trade as a 'million dollar dial'.  

This is exactly what an original/unrestored Explorer gilt dial should look like, in phenomenal condition (as glossy as the day it left the Rolex factory) with correct Swiss T<25 designation. The rare Mercedes hands are of 1964 manufacture, and the buttery tritium luminous hands & baton markers are totally untouched, still glowing under UV light with uniform intensity.

The 34mm stainless steel case is in excellent condition, and this superb vintage sports watch is fitted to a new '78350' Oyster bracelet (so can be worn daily with confidence), and is also supplied with its vintage riveted 7205 Oyster bracelet. Waterproof to 60m, guaranteed for 2 years.
