An exceptional vintage red writing Submariner ref. 1680, purchased from the original owner.

Originally bought in 1973, this gorgeous 'Top hat' plexiglas Sub Date with 'red over white' MK IV dial, has been meticulously kept with tonnes of paperwork, including its instruction booklet, swing tags, "200m" dive anchor, 1973 letter from Rolex, green wallet & Certificates, inner/outer green stripe Rolex box (cute & compact.. P.S Rolex take note), and Rolex service history.

It was during one of its many Rolex London service intervals detailed on inside of the caseback, that Rolex upgraded the entire stainless steel case with the 414xxxx serial it has now. Showing very little wear, the case is super sharp & fat, with perfectly bevelled edges. The upgraded solid Oyster Fliplock bracelet will provide 30/40 years of reliable service. Automatic calibre 1570, waterproof to 200m and guaranteed for two years.
