Rolex
Submariner '4-Line'
"Super Domed Plexiglas"
This rare Chronometer rated "5512" Submariner made in 1967, has all the beautiful vintage characteristics collectors love (including the highly coveted super-domed Plexiglas, and creamy tritium hands & batons). This example, however, is one vintage Sub you can wear daily with confidence, having had a dial and movement upgrade by Rolex in 1972.
In outstanding condition; the steel 40mm case, crown guards & diver's bezel all retain their sharp lines, whilst the matte tritium 'T<25' dial (although a very early Rolex service replacement ) features beautiful creamy tritium 'Mercedes' hands & hour markers. The self-winding movement Cal. 1570 that powers this vintage Sub has been upgraded to hacking seconds, for precision setting, waterproof to 200m & fitted to its heavy '93150' Oyster Fliplock bracelet. Accompanied by its green vintage Rolex box, and guaranteed for two years.
Introduced in the late 50's as a more robust replacement to the smaller Submariner ref. 5508 'red triangle', the 5512 was the first Rolex Submariner ever produced to feature crown guards.
