Breitling
Navitimer
806 - "White Box 10"
The final AOPA Breitling. When Breitling began supplying watches at the request of the American Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association in July 1954, who knew that the resulting model would become the most successful pilot's watch for the next seventy years!
While the Navitimer has continued to this day, the AOPA collaboration eventually ceased around 1969, the year this watch was made. There are 3 main variations of the classic wings logo: gilt wings as a raised appliqué, wings printed in gold in, and this one, wings printed in silver ink. The word "Navitimer" is in matching silver text below.
The inner slide rule has a very rare "white box 10", only seen on watches made in 1968. The most frequently-found Navitimer dial is the classic twin planes, while variants of the wings logos always command serious attention by collectors. Underscoring the rarity of special Navitimers, over the past 15 years, Watch Club has found only 55 Navitimer 806 watches good enough to make the grade. Collectors love the vintage Navitimer for its great looks and iconic mid-century legacy. 2-year Watch Club warranty.
