By sheer coincidence this 36mm yellow gold Day-Date was purchased yards from our Mayfair boutique at Watches Of Switzerland, back in March 1973! The original hand written bill of sale confirms the owner paid £555, having negotiated a 15% discount on the original RRP of £653.

Finding an early 1970's Day-Date with its correct yellow gold 7286 'non concealed' President bracelet is not an easy task, so to be able to offer this important ref. 1803 with its punched Rolex certificate, Day-Date booklet and original bill of sale, is a very rare occurance indeed. With its champagne 'pie-pan' dial, applied gold batons and Plexiglas crystal, this 1803 retains the best characteristics of these early Day-Dates, and importantly in 1972, its automatic Rolex calibre 1556 movement received 'hacking seconds' for precise setting of the time. Day-Dates have long been considered Rolex's flagship model, and this particular one has obviously been lovingly looked after for half a century.
