1665 - Double Red
Now more than ever, we're getting more requests for rare & exceptional vintage models like this ref. 1655 DRSD.
This is what a Double Red Sea-Dweller from 1972 should look like; gorgeous deep-honey coloured tritium lume, a perfect matte 'T<25' dial, characterised by its distinctively grainy texture, and sporting the iconic two lines of brick red text.
This mark IV example was one of the final models with the coveted "DRSD" typeface and is in outstanding unrestored condition. Developed alongside specialist French diving company COMEX as an industrial version of the Submariner; the Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 was produced with a Helium escape valve, and Rolex's special 'Patent' Gas Escape Valve caseback engraving. Fitted with a beautifully aged bezel insert, super domed Plexiglas, and upgraded with its heavy '93150' Oyster fliplock bracelet.
