Breitling
Navitimer Twin Planes
806 - Early Example
This vintage Navitimer 806 from 1964 is quite exceptional.
From the first year of the famous Breitling "Twin Planes" dial logo, this rare example is in never-polished condition, with beautifully delineated case edges and bevels. The black lacquered dial is absolutely perfect - the original tritium luminous hands and hour chapters have a warm tint and match perfectly. The black steel sub-dial hands are original and of the correct weight (fat for the hour, and skinny for the others), while the original 'monochrome' slide-rule bezel is clean and legible.
The movement is equally pristine, with superb gilding to the manual-wind Venus 178 Navitimer calibre, while the steel work is without signs of careless handling that one often sees. Fitted to a black leather strap. The condition of this watch can't be overstated – collectors know how rare Navitimers are in this in this condition. Fully serviced by Watch Club and carrying our two-year warranty.
The Navitimer is among those rare designs that are as fresh and contemporary today as when first launched in 1954.
