Now this is the sort of watch that every collector dreams of getting! All the way from 1965 and seldom worn, with original box, certificate, booklet, never polished and on the original Breitling lizard skin strap.

The watch was originally sold by Little Switzerland, a specialist shop in the Virgin Islands, and which is still trading today! The stamped certificate gives the date of sale as December 1965. 

Notice the unusual luminous arrow tip to the chrono seconds hand; most vintage Navitimers have a plain non-luminous centre-seconds hand. The original lizard strap is stamped with the Breitling name on the underside. We are unlikely to ever see another 60-year old strap in almost perfect condition. 

The case is beautifully sharp, and the movement is crisp and clean. The movement is a Venus calibre 178, the backbone of Breitling’s chronographs for nearly 20 years. The dial is a deep lacquered black with evenly-mellow tritium markers. This Navitimer is the perfect balance of good looks, enviable condition, complete provenance, and reliable wearability in 2024.
