Breitling Top Times are usually small and retiring, but this superb example with a large (38mm) 'Monocoque' one-piece steel case is the brawny big brother of the family. The case houses a near-mint example of the unbeatable Venus 178 calibre, in rose gold livery. The silver dial is eminently legible, punctuated only by the slender red chronograh centre-seconds hand and subtle tritium dots marking the hours. The movement serial number is in the early 1 million series, putting it squarely in 1964. In over 10 years, this is the first time we have had the opportunity to handle one of these rare Breitlings.
